8 yr Saira Swam 15 Hours Non-Stop Print E-mail

Saira Sohi  8 year school going 5th grade girl swam for 15 hours nonstop. She swam 38 km of distance in the schools swimming pool on Tuesday 2nd Sept. She is a student of Dehradun Public School in Ghaziabad. She started swimming at 5 a.m on Tuesday morning and swam 15 hours nonstop. She wants to represent India at the Olympics held in London 2012.

ImageIndia got its first gold medal at the Beijing Olympics when Abhinav Bindra won the 10 meters air rifle event on Monday morning. It was 1980 when the hockey team emerged triumphant in Moscow to bring India's last gold medal at an Olympics. Abhinav Bindra, who was awarded Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in 2001, surprized by winning gold medal for India.

ImageMahendra Singh Dhoni is captain for 20-20 and one day international cricket. During his captain period, India won the tri-series played in Australia , World 20-20 Championship in South Africa. Because of his good performance during his capatianship, he got a recommendation for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award by the Indian Cricket Board.
