TV Debate in Indian Election?
Page 2

ImageWe copy United States in lots of aspect - western culture, economical policy, food (Burgers and Pizza, will be soon more) but this one important that it came up from Lal Krishana Advani,  his direct challenge to Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for having a debate on TV like United States Presidential Election debate.

This is innovative idea by BJP firebrand, but brings up lot of questions. Is it really possible to have same style debate like USA in Indian Election phenomenon? Well, I know the optimist will always say "Nothing is impossible", but in unorganized political environment like India, I will say it is nothing but great challenge.

First and foremost is who should be called for debate? It can be Prime ministerial candidate from each political party. That sounds fair but then 80 percent won't declare the candidate and even if they do declare in the case, how many of them will be on stage. The number of political parties in India are so much that TV Camera man will be tired of movies his camera to take a best shot.
